About
Domaine de Cazaban
Domaine de Cazaban is a family-run biodynamic estate in the sunny Cabardes region of southern France, where wines are created with passion and respect for nature. Victoria Mattei’s family grows grapes organically, and since 2013, 17 hectares have been farmed biodynamically. The estate covers 27 hectares, 22 of which are vineyards with diverse soils.
Domaine de Cazaban wines are created in harmony with nature and tradition. The vines are grown without systematic irrigation or agrochemicals, developing deep root systems and extracting nutrients directly from the soil. The grapes are hand-harvested, preserving the selection of the finest grapes and conveying the purity of the terroir.
Demeter certification confirms strict biodynamic standards, ensuring our wines reflect the authentic character of the area, the balance of nature and the skill of our winemakers, creating an authentic style.
For us, biodynamics is not just a method, but a philosophy that unites all living things into a single whole. We believe that every bottle of our wine is the result of this harmony and respect for nature

Unique terroir
Unique terroir
Languedoc-Roussillon is a large and diverse wine region in the south of France. Languedoc is distinctly French in nature, while Roussillon displays clear Spanish influences, particularly Catalan.

The garrigue—a dry landscape with low-growing Mediterranean shrubland—predominates here. There are also high-elevation areas in the south and around the Montagne Noir in the north. Overall, it is a hot and dry region with a characteristic Mediterranean climate.

With 280,000 hectares, Languedoc leads France in terms of the area of vineyards cultivated organically, without the use of chemical fertilizers or pesticides. Six percent of the world's vineyards and 30% of organic vineyards are located in this region.

Cabardes AOC
Cabardes AOC straddles the border of two of France's main climate zones. It's where the region's powerful wind currents, the dry Atlantic Sers and the warm Mediterranean Marin, meet, creating a unique microclimate that has influenced its development as a wine region.

This AOC permits the blending of grape varieties typically found in Mediterranean climates, such as Syrah and Grenache, with varieties typically found in Atlantic climates, such as Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Cabernet Sauvignon.
